Glass Sculptor Grant Garmezy

Grant Garmezy loves shaping hot glass into a menagerie of life-like and life-size animals. His skills are world renowned, taking him to Murano (Italy), Japan, Africa, Scotland, South Korea, Belgium, Greece, and throughout the United States, demonstrating his hot sculpting techniques. He got his start with hot glass at Virginia Commonwealth University and has his studio near Richmond.

Glass artists from around the region come together at Sunspots Studios for a full weekend of non-stop hot glass demonstrations and exhibits. 

 

Watch as the artists demonstrate their techniques and artistry in transforming hot molten glass into beautiful crystalline pieces, from paperweights to vases to intricate beads and jewelry.

 

See and buy unique art glass gifts and jewelry from many glass artists in one location.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Festival is held Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday & Sunday.  We invite hot glass artists to our studio to demonstrate glassblowing and flame working techniques throughout the weekend. We also open our expansive 2nd floor for the artists' booths where you can see works from all our visiting artists.
